On January 22 2016, Global Relations Forum (GRF) co-hosted with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) India Office and the Delhi Policy Group (DPG) a Policy Dialogue on ‘Going Where? Energy Security in the EU & India’. The first section of the Dialogue discussed global energy security, analysed India’s energy security index and looked at Indian and EU positions on the issue. The second section of the Dialogue focused on renewable energy options and ways to attain an optimal energy mix, as well as ways to expand India-EU cooperation on energy security. Suggestions generated at the Dialogue included encouraging European and Indian companies as well as research and development establishments to collaborate on development of energy efficient and low carbon energy plants and cross-state supply infrastructure, incentivizing investment for Indian energy companies and household energy inclusiveness.
